National Library of Medicine Exhibit: Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness

The National Library of Medicine is offering lunchtime tours of its newest exhibition, Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness, with the curators of the show.
 
Native Voices presents stories illustrating the importance of balancing tradition and new ways, community, reverence for nature, and personal responsibility in the health of native groups, as told by Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians. The exhibition opened to the public on October 5th and will be on display for the next few years. 
 
At noon on October 19th, 26th, and November 4th, the NIH community and general public are invited for a tour of the exhibition lasting 30-45 minutes, during which the curator of one section of Native Voices will give extra insights on the exhibition content and the development process.
